About me
Dr. Ash is a strong advocate for true beauty and excellence across all art forms. Against the tide at the University of Houston, he taught music philosophy from a Christian worldview in the classical tradition. His education toward being a worshipper and musician began in the womb at church, and continued through the rich American and British unaccompanied praise tradition, supplemented by a career on stages across Europe and the United States performing Opera and Oratorio. He holds a BM in Voice Performance & Music Education, an MM in Voice Performance and Pedagogy, as well as a DMA Voice Performance and Music Theory. Dr. Ash and his beautiful wife Justine, both of whom are professional singers, are committed to seeking God's Kingdom first and cultivating Christ's love in their home. Dr. Ash's goal at SBSUM is to equip our families to be proficient in praise, fervent in worship, and discerning about artistic encounters in everyday life.
